CarPeriscope — Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 16, 2026

CarPeriscope ("we", "us") helps car shoppers track used-car listings and get help through the buying process. This policy explains what the CarPeriscope website (carperiscope.com) and the CarPeriscope Collector browser extension collect, and how we use it. CarPeriscope is a product of Web Pros.

What we collect

What the extension does

The CarPeriscope Collector extension reads the content of a car-listing page only when you ask it to — when you click "Add this car to Watchlist" or "Harvest," it reads the page you're currently viewing and hands it to your signed-in CarPeriscope account. For private-party listings you've saved, the extension may re-open and re-read those specific listing pages in the background to keep their price and status up to date. The extension does not track your general browsing, and it requires no separate login or key.

How we use it

Service providers

We use trusted providers to deliver features, sharing only what's needed: Google Firebase / Cloud (authentication, hosting, database, storage), Anthropic (Claude) to generate briefs, chat, and drafts from a car's data, MarketCheck for market history and comparable listings, AWS SES to send email alerts, and Stripe for payments. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.

What we don't do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not track your browsing outside of the listings you explicitly save.

Your choices

You can remove any car from your watchlist at any time, cancel a Pro subscription from your account, and request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us. You can uninstall the extension at any time from your browser.

Retention

We retain your saved cars and account data while your account is active. Aggregated, de-identified market data (e.g., price trends) may be retained to power the service.
